There are companies that rent equipment and give guided tours or lessons all along the Coconut Coast. You may even find an authentic "Beach Boy" to teach you a thing or two on a surfboard.

You'll want to explore Kauai's gorgeous lush trails, including those along the dramatic Na Pali Coast. Hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding are just a few of the day's diversions. For the more adventurous, there's also hang gliding, deep-sea fishing, water-skiing and helicopter rides. All activities come with breath-stealing natural beauty and Hawaiian culture free of charge.

Just down the road from Waipouli Beach Resort is a treasure-filled wonderland, Coconut Marketplace, and tempting Kauai Village is right across the street. Wander around either one and you'll find all kinds of boutiques, fine dining spots, hole-in-the-wall eateries, authentic Hawaiian shops, jewelry stores, art galleries, healing and wellness centers, grocery stores, a pharmacy, and even a movie theatre. You'll spot everything from fresh leis to fresh vegetables, hibiscus aloha shirts to hibiscus soap, hand-carved koa bowls to handmade quilts.
